Sound Living

Doing our bit for the environment

At AudioClinic, we've introduced a number of programs to reduce our environmental impact.

Some of these initiatives include:

Recycling hearing aid batteries

Most people are amazed to learn that hearing aid wearers can use over 100 batteries every year. With hundreds of thousands of Australians wearing hearing aids, that's a lot of batteries! At AudioClinic, we run a battery recycling program throughout all of our clinics. This will not only reduce waste, but various parts of the batteries can also be reused to save natural resources.

Recycling hearing aids

Instead of throwing out old hearing aids that may still be serviceable, we are now able to arrange for them to be donated to people who otherwise would not be able to afford them. The hearing aids are distributed by a specialist centre after they have been carefully cleaned and serviced.
If you would like to donate your old hearing aids ('behind the ear' type only at this stage), just drop them into your nearest AudioClinic.

Reducing paper and packaging

Like many companies, we do quite a lot of printing every year. To reduce our impact on the environment, where possible we will print brochures on paper that contains recycled material or is sourced from responsibly managed forests. We also use the internet and email to replace some of our printed materials.

Can we communicate with you via email to save some trees?

We have recently introduced 'Sound Living', a range of initiatives designed to minimise our impact on the environment. One of these initiatives is reducing the amount of paper we use, and you can help us by agreeing to receive information and exclusive offers from us via email rather than through the post.
