The effect of hearing loss on others

Hearing loss doesn’t just affect the sufferer. Family and friends often find it frustrating to be constantly repeating themselves, putting up with a loud TV and not being heard at all in noisy environments. Work colleagues can also struggle with issues of miscommunication.

If you know someone who may have a hearing loss, encourage them have a FREE hearing check up at their local AudioClinic.

Gwenda’s Story

My husband’s primary concern was that I could have had a car accident. Two of my grandchildren are disabled and to hear them in the back of the car I would have to turn around and look at them therefore taking my eyes off the road.

I was also very frustrated and angry that I could not hear my friends and family, especially in crowded places. I found that I was constantly excusing myself, repeating myself and talking louder than usual.

I have been wearing a hearing aid for three weeks and it is the best thing since sliced bread. Being able to hear my grandchildren and the kids at the school again clearly is priceless. I would advise anyone suffering from a hearing impairment to seek help immediately.
